Abstract: The wet oxidation treatment of sodium azide was studied by the nitrite-acetic acid method. The overall reaction was expressed by the equation, NaN_3+CH_3COOH+NaN0_2 → 2CH_3COONa+N_2+N_20+H_2O. The reaction rate law was obeyed by the second order reaction, and the activation energy was obtained to be 345.7kJmol<-1>.
