Abstract: Various alcohol was added to poly-L-glutamic acid aqueous solution. The effect of the structure of the alcohol on the structural change of poly-L-glutamic acid was examined by the circular dichroism equipment (CD). The result showed that the α-helix was easy to be induced at the order of the propanol>ethanol>methanol, when it is compared at the length of the chain length. It was proven that the α-helix was easy to be induced at the order of the t-butanol>isopropanol, when it is compared at the molecular and solid size. It was proven that chain length of alcohol molecule and molecular and solid size affected the α-helix induction.
