Abstract: cyclo (-Phe-Δala-) was Prepared by a new method for cyclic dipeptide synthesis; cyclo (-Phe-Δala-) is an abbreviation of cyclo (-L-Phenylalanyl-Δ-Alanine-); ΔAla is an abbreviation of dehydroalanine. Z-Phe-Ser-OMe was synthesized from Z-Phe-OH and HCl・H-Ser-OMe by the use of EDC reagent, and similarly cyclo (-Phe-Ser-) was obtained from H-Phe-Ser-OMe. The cyclo (-Phe-ClAla-) containing β-chloroalanine was prepared by chrolination of the cyclo (-Phe-Ser-) using PCI_5. Finally, treatment of triethyl amine on cyclo (-Phe-ClAla-) let to produce cyclo (-Phe-ΔAla-). Thus, present authors could propose a novel and new method for cyclo (-Phe-ΔAla-) synthesis via cyclo (-Phe-ClAla-).
