抄録: | Eisuke Kashiwazaki (1910-1986) designed many things from lacquer ware in Okinawa "Bembo" to alumite lacquer, ceramics, glasses, bamboo braiding, and rush mats, but his accomplishments as an organizer of community design efforts are equally significant. The best example of this is his founding of the Kyushu Craft Designer Association and acting as the first director of that association as well as the Kyushu Design Committee. He was the creator of the early stages of the Kyushu and Okinawa design circles. The Kyushu Craft Design Association has now been in existence for 40 years. This is thanks to the fact that Eisuke Kashiwazaki was not only an outstanding designer, but also a fervent supporter of design education, as well as acting as an advisor for the Iwataya Department Store, giving guidance and advice related to distribution and sales, which was also a major contributing factor. |
